Translated from the original Italian title Un Uomo by William Weaver, about a Greek revolutionary hero who fights alone and to the death for freedom and truth. Fallaci (1929-2006) was an Italian journalist and author and became famous worldwide for her coverage of war and revolution and her "long, aggressive and revealing interviews" with many world leaders. A Man is based on Alexandros Panagoulis, with whom Fallaci had a long relationship. She maintained that he was assassinated due to his work with the Greek resistance and his (unsuccessful) assassination attempt of Greek dictator Georgios Papadopoulos. A Man received the Italian awards Premio Viareggio and Premio Nazionale. 9½ x 6½". 0671252410. Purple over grey boards, gold letters on spine, title blind stamped on front board. 463 pp. Dust jacket has crease to front flap, small chips, discolored edges of DJ and boards.
