Hardcover has light orange cloth-covered boards with red spine and cover lettering. Spine has Art Nouveau-style floral design in brown and red. Front cover has plain brown border. Top edges gilt. Deckle fore edges. Black and white frontispiece with tissue guard. Black and white plates. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Book is unread, as all the pages that were originally uncut when the book was new are still in that condition. Book is in excellent condition with only light surface and edge wear and some mild darkening to the spine. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 428 pages. Half title: Fanny Burney and Her Friends. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
