Oxford University Press, Melbourne, 1963. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Poor. X, 105pp., list of plates, introduction by compiler. Black and white frontispiece with 20 black and white plates illustrating the text. Green coloured boards with gilt writing on spine. Corners are rubbed and bumped and there is speckling of the cloth to both the top and bottom of the book. The head and the heel of spine is bumped. There is a gift inscription and previous owners name on the ffep. Photographic dustwrapper, with gilt background with black writing on the front panel and spine. Dustwrapper is rubbed and faded with all 4 corners chipped. Rubbing along the fold over edges and there is chipping along the head and heel of the spine. In this book the, then, director of the National Gallery of Victoria describes the bequest, from Alfred Felton, that forms the core of the gallery's art collection . Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
