Elsner, Otto. small 4to. cloth with gilt, embossed frame patterns and symbols on front cover and spine. viii, 262 pages plus 1 facsimile and 1 leaf of plates in black and white. First edition. Collection of essays offered to the publisher Otto Elsner on July 1, 1921. Divided into four sections. The first covers jurisprudence and includes studies of the development of the book trade and the role of employees in the book industry. The second section examines various elements of the government and the social sciences, and includes essays about German economies, profit-sharing, the dynamics between employers and workers and the political role of entrepreneurs. The following section examines art and literature, with a number of figures in text as well as leaves of plates. The final section discusses technology, including the history of weekly publications and other topics related to printing technological advances and research. Two color charts. Loose bookplate indicates that this copy was purchased from the collection of H.P. Kraus. Head and tail of spine rubbed. Small repair to rear hinge at head of spine. Covers slightly soiled.
