(with the contemporary handwritten note on title after De Cayrol's name: "insere dans les memoires et la societe d'Eustiace (?) d'Abbeville annnes..." Abbeville, Imprimerie de C. Paillart, Rues Des Teinturiers, 53, no date but contemporary with the first pamphlet, 15 pages; Sur La Fete Appelee La Veillee de Venus Par M. De Cayrol, Membre de l'Academie d'Amiens et de Plusieurs autres Societes Savantes. (half title only, no true title page evident or accounted for in pagination) La Veillee de Venus Hymne Chante Par Les Jeunes Romaines Aux Fetes De la Deesse.; French language text and for a couple, Greek or Latin side-by-side translations; probably from the collection of Louis-Nicolas de Cayrol (1775-1859), with the ex-libris stamp of de Cayrol & also the red stamp of the Revolutionary official 'De Cayrol Sous Intendant Militaire' throughout, and others: J. L.M. Decrouy A Compiegne; also some contemporary annotations on title page, identifying authors and ownership; original paper wraps bound in to later medium green leather-covered boards, gilt spine titles; light edge, tips wear to binding; a little foxing, mostly fresh, contents in very good condition throughout; concerning the classic verses of Valerius Catullus, Roman poet (87- c. 47 B.C.) Catullus adorned all he touched, and his shorter poems are characterised by original invention and felicity of expression (Smith); an interesting and uncommon grouping, with one title listing one copy only in OCLC, unusual French publishers' imprints..
