About This Item
Paris: Photo Pic, [1959]. Large borderless b/w photograph of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, taken circa 1959. With the rubber stamp of Parisian photographer Roger Pic to the verso. Roger Pic (1920 - 2001) was a French photojournalist famed for his portraits and documentaries on anti-colonial struggles. He visited Cuba in the late 50's and 60's; forging personal relationships with both Che Guevara and Fidel Castro. This closeness enabled Pic to achieve images of unusual relaxation and candor. Very good condition. 205 x 305 mm (8 x 12 inches).
