Description:
Claremont Manufacturing Company, Claremont, NH, n.d. (19th c.). New. Hogan & Thompson published an ed. as late as 1850; 163 p., clean and unmarked except for bookseller's notation on front end page "early [illegible] imprint engravings;" pape strong but quite foxed; leather spine with gilt striations is abraded and blue paper strpped off front board; back board also partially stripped of paper, but catalogue of Claremont's other educational books is present. Binding firm. Contents includes poetry by Thomas Moore, Robert Southey and other lesser known poets of the time; fascinating articles by J-J Audubon, Washington Irving, John Lilly, Alexander von Humboldt, the Comte de Buffon and other notable writers, as well… Read More
