Kent, CT: Kent School, 1956. 1956, published for the celebration of Kent School's Fiftieth Anniversary. VERY GOOD. SIGNED by the late African-American psychologist, author, social scientist, and civil rights activist Kenneth B. Clark, his signature on the front pasted end. Clark and his wife Mamie founded the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem and the organization Harlem Youth Opportunities Unlimited and originated the famous doll studies on the harmful effects of racism on black children. Their son, Hilton, attended Kent School. A clean, firmly bound copy. Other than Clark's signature, the book is unmarked. Free endpapers and the facing pages are toned and there are occasional light finger-markings but otherwise pages are fine. Hardcover bound in padde cloth with an aerial photograph of the school printed in blue. Cover spine and edges are toned and lightly soiled and edges are lightly rubbed, overall cover is very good. Binding strong, hinges intact, boards and spine straight. Foreword by Headmaster, the Reverend John Oliver Patterson. Illustrated throughout with photos, including 4 pages of color photos.
