Topeka, KS: W. Y. Morgan (1st Edition, 1899). Paper wrap covers, side stapled, 96 pages. Covers show wear, with small chips and tears to edges and corners. Illustration and lettering remain bright. Text block tight and solid. Covers have been re-attached with book tape and hinges reinforced with archival document tape. Pages are lightly toned; clean and unmarked.
ABOUT THE BOOK: Hard to find regimental history. "The Fighting Twentieth": History and Official Souvenir of the Twentieth Kansas Regiment. Publication authorized by the executive committee of the non-partisan reception committee appointed by Governor Stanley from the state at large. (Kansas Governor William Stanley) The 20th Kansas Volunteer Infantry was formed during the Spanish American War, but saw the majority of service in the theater of war during the Philippine American War. It was during this latter war that the unit gained fame, fighting in the Philippines.
