Fine Autograph Letter Signed in German with translation to Mr Jekyll, (Samuel, 1755-1843, German Physician, the Father of Homeopathy) by HAHNEMANN

with envelope identifying the correspondent as Joseph JEKYLL, possibly the MP for Calne, (1754-1837), saying that he is glad that his "health has considerably improved and that I must have contributed something to this. I wish you total well-being and if I can further this in any way you only have to write .. you are often in my thoughts ... He was a very celebrated physician of the homoeopathic school, and one like Hahnemann, lived to celebrate the 50th Doctor Jubilee. His name appears as a contributor to the Hahnemann Jubilee of 1829 and is also in the Zeitung list of 1832. Friedrich Jacob RUMMEL (1793-1854, Pioneer of Homeopathy). He was a member of Hahnemann's first proving group who in 1832 became, with Gross and Hartmann, an editor of the Allgemeine Homoopathische Zeitung. Rummel was largely responsible for the recognition and protection of Homeopathy in Prussia. He is possibly referring to the Rt Rev Richard DURNFORD (1802-1895, Bishop of Chichester from 1870) who was educated at Eton. Material relating to early homeopathy is rare.
