About This Item

Toronto: Macmillan of Canada, 1975 The author's first novel in 14 years, a novel full of what many readers will see as tantalizing hints of autobiography. The central character is an elderly writer, well respected abroad but almost unknown in his own country. His life intersects with others in obsessive and disturbing ways. A literary achievement as rich in subplot as it is in character, raising many questions and dealing with many ideas. A rich, complex, brilliant book where "things start going off in the wrong directions". "Discard" stamp on ffep, else fine.. 1st Canadian Edition.. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good, Slight Chips.
