The author's narrative covers some fifteen years of travel in Tibet & Nepal beginning in 1925 as a member of the Roosevelt expedition to Chinese Turkestan. Covering over 7200 miles alone, in native garb, he mingled with the civilizations & primitive life. . Cutting writes of the land, people, customs, & the adventure itself, rather than hardships. He presents the vivid parade of geological wonders, animate & inanimate life in his travel through largely uncharted lands. *** With three lovely color plates by Alezandre Iacovleff.
