About This Item
A triumphant novel of tenderness and beauty in the face of the demonical forces loose in our world. A young Jewish doctor, practicing in Nazi Germany, develops a treatment for tuberculosis. His patient is a young orphan girl. Finally they manage to escape to Britain with the precious notes of his experiments. Ray Coryton Hutchinson (1907-75), now almost forgotten, was a bestselling British novelist and Major during the War. After the war he wrote many successful novels, often recommended by book clubs and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in June 1962.
