Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Very Good +; light dust soiling to text block top; light bumping to head and tail. DJ: Very Good +; light edge bumping; small tear at front gutter. Red boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 225 pp 8vo. The author was a Belgian who escaped to England in 1940 when Germany invaded. Despite an injury, he earns his wings with the RAF where he is posted to Squadron 609 and is flying British Typhoons from Yorkshire. By war's end he had logged 1000 hours of flight time under many conditions and planes over a three year time before being shot down and captured by the Germans and the Russians. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
