Toronto: Macmillan. Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1961. First Edition. Hardcover. 155, [5] p. 21.5 cm. Dustjacket lists to itself. Sound and square binding in yellow, cloth-covered boards with navy titles. Moisture stain to the upper board along the spine and on bottom of text block and bottom of the hinge of the endpapers. Bottom fore-corners are bumped. Text block edges have some light soil and foxing. Dust jacket has a stain along the spine, only really visible on the reverse side. Some edge and corner wear. Light soiling to rear white panel and a little soil to the front. The flap folds are rubbed. Spine is not faded. Not price clipped. An attractive copy in the jacket, even with its faults. The twenty-fourth title in the "Great Stories of Canada" series for children. Tells the story of the French explorer Samuel de Champlain and his time along the St. Lawrence River.
