Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for 50 cent price on FFFP which matches price on DJ. Book Condition: VG+; browning to edges of boards on top and bottom; browning to spine in two places where there are defects in the DJ. Fair; large closed tear on front cover; chipping along top edge of cover; two closed tears on spine cover. Decorative grey paper/boards with white cloth overlay on spine with grey lettering on spine and white lettering with enclosure banding on front board. Gilt top. 69 pp 12 mo 5" x7.5" with bw frontis. This is a folk tale of how the first Christmas Tree came into being. It tells of a hero, Winfried with his young companion stepping boldly into the pagan right of the passing into winter. He preaches the gospel of Christ and His birth on that night; then from the heavens came a miracle that resulted in the salvation of the people. To celebrate, they brought new life or the Christmas tree into their homes. A clean and very presentable copy in Brodart mylar.
