Chatto & Windus, 1932. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. 1st Edition, 1st Printing. 12.3 x 19.2 cm. Yellow cloth with red stamped titles to the spine. Top edge red, pp [viii] 267[1] 8, Phoenix Library adverts. The boards are dust marked and the spine sunned with five small rubs in the cloth half way down the spine. there is also some light rubbing to the joints. Light pushing to the spine tips and corners and a bruise half way down the upper board at the fore edge. Internally, there is a faded ink ownership name and a book plate for the historian Hugh Brogan on the front pastedown together with a hint of spotting to the edge of the text block and the endpapers. First edition, first impression of the author's fourth book, the second that he published under the pseudonym James Aston.
