Each of the four volumes cover the alphabet but in repeating fashion, one volume piled upon another. No dust jackets, as issued. Each volume also features a fine, two-page illustrated endpaper, being black-and-white photographs of the American authors covered therein but also facsimiles of memos, title pages, dust jackets and the like.
