About This Item
London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1902. A first edition, first printing published by T. Fisher Unwin in 1902. A very good copy with one neat name written to the top of the front free end paper. Some darkening to the spine, however, the gilt is quite bright. Fading and staining can be seen to the front and rear boards, with slight wear to the spine tips, edges and corners. Slight lean, and offsetting to the front and rear end papers. Some chipping to the top edge of pages 62 and 63. Red top stain remains bright. All the plates are present. Illustrations by H.R. Millar. A rare book to find in complete condition. A classic of children's literature.
