About This Item
Scotland 5 gc The five great churches of Galloway: forming the concluding volume of the collections of the Ayr and Galloway Archaeological Association. Volume X. (Series: Ayrshire and Galloway Archaeological Association, Vol X).Drawings by David MacGibbon and Thomas Ross. Edinburgh: Printed for the Ayrshire and Galloway Archaeological Association, 1899, xxx, 243 pages, illustrations, plates, Appendix, index. Large and heavy volume. In cream colored cloth, spine and little on covers have some speckling, assume that the book was stored in a library where the volume may have been exposed to blowing dust over the years. Stain (water?) on bottom paper edge. The volume was once part of the Massachusetts Historical Library collection, with its bookplate on front lining paper. Overall, a good, tight, clean copy of a very scarce book. One can only imagine the time and skill it took the two artists to accomplish such a task. Very scarce volume. $75.00
