About This Item
London: Hutchinson and Co., 1906. Hardcover. Good +. London: Hutchinson and Co., 1906. First UK edition. Good +. Translated by Frederick Whyte. The title is something of a misnomer; Schillings was one of the first people to advocate the shooting of African wildlife with a camera rather than a rifle. These volumes are testimoney to his adherence to that philosophy and included are several shots taken at night and many 'action' shots with animals on the move. Original pictorial greeen cloth covers with a few bumps, marks and rubbing but bright, corners mildly bumped, t.e.g., minor foxing to endpapers but otherwise clean and with sound binding. An attractive set.
