Bright gilt title over lightly bumped spine. Minor biopredation on foot, else red boards undamaged. Textblock top edge tinted red, else textblock unmarked. Colour-art illustrated (Detail- 'The Last Judgement', by Hieronymus Bosch) dustjacket lightly edgeworn, with slight biopredation on lower rear flap (text unaffected). While researching her book 'Food in History', Reay Tannahill (1929-2007) found many references to cannabilism in human society, spurring her to produce this book, the first general book in English on every aspect of the subject . . . Contents include: Prelims., Acks., Introduction, 8 chapters, Postscript, Bibliography, Notes, Index. Book weight approx. 420g. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition..
