London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1899. Copy belonging to arthur Bennett [Botanist and author of Potamogetons of the British Isles, prolific contributor to many botanical periodicals]. Tipped on to page 304 is a published article by Bennett [p. 127 published in the Naturalist?] regarding Malaxis paludosa and referrring to Mr. B. D. Jackson's copy of "Outlines" annotated by Watson. This is accompanied by a double-sided autographed letter, signed from Benjamin Jackson on Linnean Society headed paper dated 10th March 1913 to Arthur Bennett regarding the record for this species. [Jackson was the general secretary of the Linnean Society from 1902-1926]. There are a few notes in the neat hand of Arthur Bennett to the half-title page, and further additions and records to the text. 399 pages; portrait frontispiece, folding coloured map. Publisher's green cloth binding with gilt lettering and gilt decoration (bramble); very good with light wear only. Contents very good, original brown-coated end papers, receipt from Weldon and Wesley tipped onto rear end paper, tissue guard to frontispiece partially detached. A very good copy with interesting additions and provenance.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo.
