Binding a little frail, top and bottom of the spine frayed. Contents clean and tight, patterned endpapers with Prof. Stearn's signature; on the reverse is E.Cleminshaw's signature and address, [see notes] On the title page is an inscription by E. A. Bowles " W. T. Stearn from E. A. Bowles 27. V. 1934". A good copy with an interesting association. [Cleminshaw- Botanists who joined the MEC and took interest in lichens; Crocus E A Bowles Edward Augustus (Gus or Gussie) Bowles, VMH (14 May 1865, 7 May 1954), known professionally as E. A. Bowles, was a British horticulturalist, plantsman and garden writer.He developed an important garden at Myddelton House, his lifelong home at Bulls Cross in Enfield, Middlesex and his name has been preserved in many varieties of plant. Prof Stearn, prolific author and botanist.].
