Washingon, DC: By the Author, 1938. Limited Edition. Quarto. Limited to 750 copies which contains a special colour plate listing subscribers' names. The present copy if from an original subscriber with her card laid in. 275pp., The illustrations are printed by the deeptone process. The first part of the book introduces the flowers. The second part of the volume is a complete list of the works of the 18th and early 19th centuries which contain flower prints. Full descriptions of the prints, names of artists, engravers and publishers are given together with other details and indices. Through this work, it will now be [possible to identify nearly all flower and fruit prints of this period and trace their provenance. Bound in a coated linen cloth over beveled boards, central green leather pastedown lettered and decorated in gilt, leather spine label gilt, There is a stain to spine, housed within green cloth covered slipcase with soft inside lining for protection.
