Chatto & Windus, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. There are slight tear marks on flyleaf front where likely library sheet or possibly former owner bookplate information has been removed, There is no indication throughout the book of any ex-library stamp or other marking, and the only suggestion that the book is ex-library (apart from the above) is the classification number "656.7 GRA" inked at base of spine of Dust Jacket. Spine of book itself is not marked or inked. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Moderately foxed throughout. Dust Jacket has a large closed tear and associated wear. Back flap of Dust Jacket has a chunk missing from the edge and there are stains to back edge of flap and a smaller stain at top of Dust Jacket spine, both caused by acid in tape formerly attached. Overall, however, Dust Jacket is sound and clean, apart from faults mentioned here.. Dust Jacket price-clipped. Edges foxed and browned. Dust jacket marked with a Library stamp, but very discreetly, spine and text unmarked. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilogram. Category: Aviation; Antiquarian & Rare. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 15479. .

Description:
New York:: Putnam,, 1996.. First Printing of the First Edition. A Fine copy in a Fine unclipped dust jacket. Inscribed by astronaut Mitchell on the half-title page. Apollo 14 astronaut Mitchell offers a vision in which technology and intuition are harmonized in pursuit of a more advanced consciousness. When Mitchell was hurtling back to earth after walking on the moon in 1971, he had a profound sense that all things are interconnected and that the universe is an intelligent process with which we need to link up. We hear how Mitchell began a career as a fighter pilot in the years following WW II, switched to NASA with the hope of being part of the new space program, and came to know the legendary Wernher von Braun, whom he believes was a true visionary rather than a Nazi opportunist. Mitchell tells how, while returning to earth, he carried out a private ESP experiment that seemed to yield positive results. Subsequently, he founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences, in order to test paranormal phenomena…

San Diego, California: American Astronautical Society (AAS), 1981. xvi, 310 pages. Third printing of Volume 1 in the AAS History Series, that was first published in 1977. Laid in is a handwritten note from Gene Emme to NASA archivist Lee Saegesser, with whom Emme had worked closely for years in the NASA History Office. Emme was NASA's first official historian and the founder of the NASA History Office. Through national meetings, technical meetings, symposia and publications, the American Astronautical Society has provided the perspectives and expertise of the leading American space professionals in advancing all space activities. In this book 13 of those professionals provide important perspectives on the history of flight in the U. S. just after the opening of the National Air and Space Museum. The book offered here is from the personal collection of Lee Saegesser, NASA's chief archivist for 30 years. The book is in very good condition: clean, bright, and tight, with just a hint of…
