School prize binding - leather-bound, raised bands and gilt to spine, gilt crest to face, marbled endpapers and edges. Spine edges and ends lightly rubbed. Presentation plate to front pastedown. Illustrated with Black & White Photographs and Maps. Introduction by Julian Huxley. 341 pages. A lively and convincing picture of the prewar Australian bush. The author looked at flying foxes in Queensland during 1929 to 1931 and then spent time on his return to Australia in 1935 he worked on such problems as wind erosion, termites and rabbit control. He was also a founder of the Australian Conservation Foundation. He was deeply interested in the places and people he met and this is brought out in this very popular account of the Australian bush. Robust, professional packaging and tracking provided for all parcels. . 2nd Impression. Hardback.
