Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for library stamps on the title page and textblock top. Book Condition: Very Good; dust soiling to boards; light shelfwear; check-out slip and pocket in rear; paper scar on rear pastedown from library jacket removal. No DJ. Black cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. Clean internals. Interior hinges are sound and not split. 419 pp 4to. A nice thick reference book published in 1976 that gives brief descriptions of many folk performers and organizations of the time. Most run usually about half a page, although some, like Bob Dylan, Jean Ritchie and Pete Seeger, are considerably longer. This book is concerned with many of the men and women whose approach to the folk song as an expression of life makes folk music more than a song. Singers, musicians, club owners, composers, producers, festival organizers and many more responsible for making folk music what it is. Space does not allow everyone to be included so here in alphabetical order are a smattering of the best in the business. A clean very presentable copy.
