About This Item

Flagstaff, Arizona: Northland Publishing, 1996. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Ashkii lives on the Navajo Reservation with his grandfather. He loves to paint but his grandfather tells him that is not the Navajo way. With humor and insight into the Navajo way, Redwing Nez relates the story of his own childhood and his love of painting. At 22, he took a car full of paintings to his first Indian Market in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Two days later, he returned home a professional painter. Forbidden Talent was his debut as an author illustrator of a children's book, but his award-winning artwork has been widely collected. Book is in fine condition. On the front end page is the following : This Books Belongs To with a name written in and following is an inscription by the author "with special thanks & enjoy my story Redwing T Nez 1996." He also signed his name on the title page. Included is a copy of the page of the Telluride Times-Journal with an article on Redwing Nez. The picture is a scan of the actual book.

About Trolls Treasure

Home-based, online sales only. I am running out of space to keep my collection of books, but I cannot bypass any chance offered at searching out some interesting venue offering books. I dithered for quite some time over this problem, and went right on buying books, until it occurred to me that I could make room for new purchases if I started selling some of my books. So, here I am, a small business, but offering personal service. Happy to answer questions.
