Small 8vo. 286p. Illustrated with ten engraved plates, including inscription plate and frontispiece. Bound in full red morocco, with watered silk endpapers, a.e.g., the spine and covers in overall embossed gilt designs of roses and vines and a central device featuring Queen Victoria's monogram, dentelles with a series of ruled borders and cornerpieces. Housed in felt-lined green cloth box. "The first attempt to rival the numerous and elegant publications of the continent." (From preface of the 1823 volume.).
This the final volume in the series that ran from 1823-1847.

Description:
London: R. Ackerman, 1839. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5_ - 6_" tall. Edition not known. In worn, tightly bound brown thick boards with mottled design in red and black, worn corners. Paper covered spine; black titles, worn, especially the ends. Slightly tanned, grubby end papers. Cut edges deckled and tanned. Good text block, tight, only lightly tanned, with some foxing on prelims, a few marks in the text. Eleven lovely steel engraved plates (including frontispiece). Very good for age. Rare.
