About This Item
U.S.A: Arcadia Publishing, 2009. Paperback. Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7?" - 9?" tall. Trade Paperback in Fine Condition. Clean, bright, unmarked, illustrated cover, with photo of Fort Benton Bound Steamboats. Fort Benton, Montana is at the head of navigation on the Misouri River, known as the "Birthplace of Montana". It was founded in 1846 as a fur trading post and is Mintana's oldest continuous settlement. In 1860 with the first steamboats and the completion of Mullan Road, the steamboat era brought gold seekers, merchant princes, scoundrels, soldiers, NW Mounted Police, and eventually women and children to this wild frontier. The Postcard History Series Books illustrates the locale in postcards with detailed historical descriptions of each historical postcard. 127 pages. 6.5 x 9.25 inches. 2009, Arcadia Publishing, USA
