NY: Houghton, Mifflin & Co., 1932 NF in blue cloth with a worn but unclipper wrapper. NOTE: We have recently purchased a large collection of Modern First Editions (like this title) by various authors from the 20's & 30's from a local estate here in Northern New Hampshire. They include scarce and collectable pieces by; L. M. Montgomery, D. E. Stevenson, A. P. Terhune, Dora Aydelotte, R. Ross Annett, Sara Ware Bassett, ames B. Connolly, and several others. Most of these are in Near Fine condition with dust wrappers and host the former owners bookplate on the verso (inside) of the front cover. These paper plates measure 1-3/4"x2-3/4" and features a photo of a Garden Gate with the words 'My Book' on top and the owners name (Jennie P. Dow) on the bottom, quite a nice touch. In pale blue cloth-covered boards with deep blue lettering front and spine (boards a little rubbed at corners and around the lightly sunned spine). Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper, sparse, mild spotting, else internally neat and clean. Firmly bound. Memoirs of Sir Wilfred Grenfell, an English medical missionary to Newfoundland from 1892 to the 1920s. 8vo.

They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples.
