Four tales, Love in a Junk, Brother or Bride ?, The Everlasting Couple and The Mandarin-Duck Couple, from a popular collection called Common Tales to Rouse the World, published towards the end of the Ming dynasty.Presentation copy from Harold Acton, inscribed on the front free endpaper: ''To dear Mrs Chadbourne to take away to the Hudson Valley, with best of wishes from Harold Acton''.Fine in very good dustwrapper, designed by Derek Hill, with a few small nicks.
