SIGNED BY AUTHOR-SOFTCOVER SIGNED BY AUTHOR-Four islands: A history of Detroit, Rock, St. Martins and Washington islands (Paperback CONDITION GOOD-SPINE HAS YELLOWED)-SIGNED BY AUTHOR by Raymond McDonald (Author)-1984 COPYRIGHT Genealogy of families living on these 4 islands in Lake Michigan from about 1850 to 1980. From 1st Chapter: "This is an account of some of the early history of commercial fishing and lake shipping in northern Green Bay and Lake Michigan. This history took place near the islands of Washington, St. Martins and Rock, and also Detroit Island. It covers that period from 1850 to about 1980. My grandfather and his brother commercial fished from Washington Island shortly after 1850. At that time, and for many years, nearly all fishing was carried on by sailboats. It was probably a few years before the steam tug came into use.
