About This Item
London: Alexander Murray, 1870. Reprint. Hardcover. g. Octavo. [8], 400pp. Original red cloth with gold lettering on spine and blind-stamped printer's device on covers. In this captivating book, Locke pleads for the universal toleration of all modes of worship, not immoral in their nature, or involving doctrines inimical to good government - placing in the latter category, some of the doctrines of the church of Rome. This work is the reprint of the seventh edition published in 1758. Spine age toned. Minor rubbing along edges. Previous owner's ex-libris on inside of front cover and free front endpaper. Moderate foxing throughout. Binding in overall good- to good, interior in good condition.
