Page edges toned, foxed, with a few stains. The tip of the lower corner of the dedication page is missing. The upper edge is tinted pink, possibly bleed from the red boards. Or red cloth boards, flecked, stained and worn, gilt titles on the spine and front board. The book is tightly bound and internally in good, clean condition. The book developed from the author's course of lectures on the history of science in general and pharmacy in particular delivered for more than ten years to the students taking advanced work in Pharmacy in the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. In addition to covering the history of pharmacy, information is given on the history of general science and of some of the professions, arts and sciences related to pharmacy, and of concurrent events in general history..
