This is a scare publication to begin with, but what makes it unique and important historically is that its previous owner, gun collector Gary Smith of Thornville, Ohio, conducted his own research and has heavily annotated the booklet, providing additional details and corrections to the text. Among the things he notes are who owned the rifles depicted, what their value was at the time, where various gunsmiths are buried, inscriptions on their tombstones, etc. One of the most interesting parts of the booklet is the local story of how Samuel Colt stole the design for the revolver from the Humbergers. 40 p.: illus., 23 cm.
