Paris: Charavay, Mantoux, Martin, 1898. Hardcover. Very Good +. Breville, Jacques Onfroy de. Approx. [240] p.: many color illustrations; 37 cm. Publisher's brown cloth with gilt-stamped spine and cover titles; gilt-stamped decoration on spine and back cover. Front cover has gilt-stamped decoration as well as decoration in red and blue. Top page edges gilt. Green endpapers. No date of publication; 1898 is the date given in library records for the first two titles. The third title, Les Trois Couleurs, has Charavay, Martin as the publisher indicating that this was published after Mantoux was no longer part of the firm (possibly 1899). The front cover gives H.E. Martin as the publisher, indicating that the three titles may have been issued in one volume slightly later. Only the first title, France Son Histoire, has Librairie d'Education de la Jeunesse on the title page. Half title of France Son Histoire: France Son Histoire: Jusqu'en 1789. Wonderfully illustrated histories of France with many full-page and some double-page illustrations by JOB (Jacques Onfroy de Breville). A heavy book; for international shipping, it will have to be sent by priority international. In Very Good+ Condition: cover is rubbed with small scrapes, but still bright; front hinge starting; pages are clean and bright.
