The book has a small pocket at rear containing a facsimile of The Shakespeare Press prospectus 1904. Blue cloth boards with gilt decoration to front and gilt titles to spine. A. H. Bullen founded The Shakespeare Head Press in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1904, with the aim of publishing finely-produced limited editions of works of literary merit, beginning with an edition of Shakespeare's plays. Basil Blackwell later took over and developed Bullen's work in Oxford, assisted by Bernard Newdigate.
