His name lives on in the Borden company, as it was he who invented and patented condensed milk as early as 1856. B/w photo frontispiece, b/w block prints by Warren Hunter. X-Lib VG/Fair. Former library copy with only a red 'withdrawn' stamp on top edge, as it was held in 'Special Collection'. A clean, solid copy. Worn dustjacket has small tears and chips.
