The great 19th-century critic profiles 21 of France's best writers, with portraits by de Staal, Philippoteaux and others. Condition of this book: Upper panel stained, chip at head of spine, extremities worn, overall sound. Leaves clean and tight, scattered foxing, images very good. Size: Quarto. Text is in French. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
