Matching two volume set featuring 0riginal brown leather boards (10" x 13.5" with gilt designs on cover and gilt lettering and designs with four raised bands along side. Front board detached and spine loose from Vol. I; Front board and spine detached from binding; moderate rubbing along edges. Bindings secure. Contents clean and unmarked with a few loose pages at front of Vol. I. 1191pp. featuring 100 full page hand colored engravings of characters and events from Italy's history. All are clean and unmarked with not chips or tears. A few show minor foxing along edge not impacting plate. Published in 1856. A true treasure. Lanquage: Italian. All items carefully packed to avoid damage from moisture and rough handling.
