About This Item

New York: Adelphi Company, 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/very good. 162p octavo. A very good copy in a very good dust jacket. Presented to Wm J Iwami by Mr. Guerney as friendly token autographed in english and he notes the date of publication and a doodle. He further notes that this is one of the first few copies off the press, with corrections, notations and revisions in the translator's own hand. He additionally ads the 6th chapter on page 162-A which was left out through carelessness of the printer. This description is taken verbatim from a typed note (laid in) by Guido Bruno whose library this book emanated. Bruno was a small press publisher in Greenwich Village who published 'Bruno Chapbooks' (Book of Repulsive Women Djuna Barnes). He covered many of his books in his library with artistically appointed brown paper covering what is assumed a very good dust jacket.
