Presentation copy, inscribed by the author in blue ink to the dedication page: 'To John La Rose / from / Michael Anthony / April 1968.'
The recipient John La Rose was a political and cultural activist, poet, writer, publisher, founder of New Beacon Books in 1966, the first specialist Caribbean publishing company in Britain, and subsequently Chairman of the George Padmore Institute.
