Fine in a Very Good jacket showing minimal fading and light wear to extremities. Warmly inscribed by author. Patterson was born and spent her life Langston, Oklahoma. She was a highly regarded educator, historian, activist and author. Her other published works include: "Langston University: A History" (OU Press: 1979/1993) as well as a number of local histories of Langston. She served as the Chairman, Home Economics Department, Langston University from 1965-1971 and was inducted into Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame in 1983.
