Gargoyle was founded in 1976 in Washington, D.C. and ran continuously until going on hiatus in 1990. This anniversary issue was the first of the revived magazine - in addition to poetry and fiction, this issue features excerpts from memoirs by Nick Cave and Joan Haverty Kerouac, and photography by Claudine Schaffer-Legrand.
