London : Trigram Press, (1971). First edition : the wrappers issue. Signed by Gavin Ewart on the title-page, with the date of January 1976 in another hand. A collection of thirty-nine poems - as Philip Larkin noted, "well-shaped pieces, freaked with pain and absurdity" - including "On the Death of an Unpleasant Executive", "People Will Say We're in Love", "Soho and West, Saturday Morning", "Intimations of Mortality on the Lower Richmond Road", "The Only Emperor is the Emperor of Ice Cream", etc. Foolscap 4to (21cm). (64)pp. Title-page and cover designs by Michael Foreman. Original flesh-coloured (the publisher's description) wrappers, printed in brown and puce; a very good copy.
