Late 19th or early 20th century vellum with gilt spine lettering and green morocco inlay with Bourbon arms in gilt on the front cover; top edge gilt. 22 x 14 cm. Soiling and a few stains to the vellum with the spine rather darkened, boards slightly bowed. A few minor traces of soiling to the title, some extremely faint marginal foxing, but leaves are generally clean and bright. Good plus. Bookplate of John Alexander Carr on front pastedown. Louis Étienne Dussieux (1815-1894) was a professor of history at the special military school at Saint-Cyr and the author of numerous works on history, art history, and geography.
