London: Robinson and Dilly, 1791. Second Edition. Leather_bound. Good Plus. Thomas Bewick. x,483 pages. Title vignette and numerous woodcuts throughout the text. Leather spine, original boards, black spine label. Large octavo. Chafing to spine, spine label cracked and chipped, corners bumped. Beautiful navy, plum and cream marbled endpapers, light foxing throughout. Binding sound. The second edition was much more detailed. Thomas Bewick [1754-1828] was a printmaker and naturalist who revived the art of wood engraving as a major printing technique.
