British school atlas of steel engraved maps, including the United States showing the states as far west as Iowa, with the land to the west denoted as "Western States" with Native American tribes and "Indian Territory" north of Texas, and an inset of Florida. The Australia map shows only South Australia and New South Wales, with the rest of the continent designated "New Holland". The Africa map depicts the continent before the great period of British exploration, the expeditions of Livingstone, Burton, Stanley and Speke having not yet occurred. The continent shown with nations along the coasts, the great central region denoted as "Sahara or Great Desert" and "Aethiopia".

Each of the black and white map has the borders or outlines of individual countries highlighted by hand in different colors.

Covers are beige cloth, half dark brown leather with gilt title on cover, which reads "Blair's Modern School Atlas." Needs a re-back. OCLC: 26924227 records one copy of this edition.
